On the Sligo carriageway the traffic suddenly slowe
Some eegit was on the wrong side in the middle of the road
Mary was going to work exercising her given rights
She was frightened he would front end her lovely shining Ford
She flashed her lights at him incessantly which he ignored
She did not yet know if he was drunk or worse still asleep
She kept as far in as she could and then started to beep
Luckily it wasn't wide she said it was just a wee white van
Imagine the havoc if it was a Cadillac sedan
In the middle of the road Mary didn't want to linger
And to show his ignorance passing he gave her the finger
Mary still has a great doubt about this man's sanity
She does not regret casting doubt on him with profanity
He was on the phone telling his girlfriend about his bad day
And how all the other drivers were going the wrong way
Mary now has a book of curses she can get in a flash
She doesn't keep it in the glove box but right there on the dash
