She’s Gone © Tony Fallon051718

She’s Gone © Tony Fallon051718

She came from the north in the year Oh fifteen
One of the prettiest girls I've ever seen
Her time was so short we agreed in advance
We could be friends but there would be no romance
She was here ten days and it would be stupid
To encourage the arrow man named cupid
Her questions and answers were always direct
She had a big spirit that could not be checked
Her size and shape made her look so athletic
Her effect on me was just pure magnetic
Our days together were filled with joy and mirth
I could follow her to the end of the earth
She taught me how to take on the world in stride
She aroused from me thoughts bottled up inside
She taught me how to have lots of self esteem
How to go out in the world and chase a dream
Her way of reasoning showed her special skills
The whole package just gave me so many thrills
She stayed twice as long as she had intended
If she had stayed longer that would be splendid
When she departed I was full of sorrow
But much better prepared to face the morrow
We promised our time would be truly enjoyed
But after letting go my heart was destroyed
This special time in my mind often replays
I wish I could return to those happy days
Does affection live in the heart or the soul?
Does lack of it exact a substantial toll?

The Star© Tony Fallon051518

The Star© Tony Fallon051518

There is a star I can't see in the sky
That brings many a sad tear to my eye
For you were called back to the creator
On vacation below the equator
They say your star appears in the famous cross
I'm too far north; I'm at a terrible loss
My friends say it twinkles and is so bright
It is seen so clearly each Aussie night
I cannot see it or even visit your grave
I am now all alone in the land of the brave
I say a prayer each morning at the shrine
And I know that your star will forever shine
What is going to happen we cannot foretell
I hope the drunk driver, rots forever in hell

Beauty © Tony Fallon 051318

Beauty © Tony Fallon 051318

Beauty is only skin deep and sets some folks apart
Yet very homely people may have beauty in their heart
The braggart and the beauty may not own each others souls
Unhappy shall such couples be for whom that sad bell tolls
The man must feel cheated for his dreams are not complete
And any man in the world can admire her beauty on the street
The man to keep his macho dignity will not easily confess
That within their home of homes they very rarely caress
Meanwhile the homely man won the heart of the homely maid
He comes home each evening to a dinner that is lovingly displayed
The dog is glad to see him and his children scream with glee
And for father of the year he would be their only nominee
The television sits idly in the corner as they each replay their day
As the son talks of home runs and the daughter practices ballet
The next day is a day that’s special so early on they all retire
While the dog dreams of rabbits on the rug in front of the fire
Both families may see each other at the church they both attend
They may wave to each other because not to would offend
The beauty picked out her jewelry thinking of what her friends will say
While the homely one is treated like a queen for it is Mothers Day.

Spring Love © Tony Fallon 051418

I often met a pretty girl. And of love I was ambiguous
It never progressed. We did not become contiguous
What I’m looking for. Is a girl of not much more than thirty?
That’s the kind of girl. With which I’m often flirty
There’s a cute blonde next door. Of her I’m truly smitten
She and I get along as well. As Sinn Fein does with Britain
Whenever I’m cruising on the street. On my Harley I’m riding
She stops her sunbathing. And goes inside, she’s hiding
Once when I was drunk I asked her. To come with me on a weekend tour
She wouldn’t be caught dead on the bike. Because I am immature ?????
I think I look very snappy. All togged out from head to toe in leather
And I never do any wheelies. During the wet or snowy weather
She is not at all impressed. When in the morning the clutch I pop
She has called 911 more than once. To try to force me to stop
With an attitude like that.  We can never have rapport
How can I be immature? I act young for my age I’m only sixty four.
She told me once she’d introduce. A perfect match named Annie
Who do you think it was? Her seventy year old widowed Granny.

Parents Day © Tony Fallon 051218

Parents Day © Tony Fallon 051218

Some children think parents are a blessing
Others think parents day is distressing
Some people think their parents never cared
Some people alas were not at all prepared
Some confused the words love and passion
Selfish, selfish lacking any form of compassion
Sometimes the fruit of love is a heavy load
And the wild life of yore is quickly slowed
Both can become a great husband and wife
Settle down and abandon the wildlife
Others become abusive and accusing
While their own bodies they keep abusing
Becoming more harassed and perturbed
Acting like their wonderful life was disturbed
Some children aren’t raised they’re drug along
Made to feel they just do not belong
The words that I’ve heard that are aberrant
Is “I am not loved by my parent”

Gambling © Tony Fallon 051018

Gambling © Tony Fallon 051018

I remember when you mentioned I could always depend on you for support
Well I bet on the Irish horse in the Derby and I'm a little bit short
As one of the favorites he finished last I do not think he was tryin'
I wouldn’t ever expect that from a horse trained by Mister Aiden O'Brien

I went to Blauvelt one night last month for the monthly twenty five card drive
My partner was so inexperienced he thought the jack would beat the five
I should not have gone to Bingo last night and my luck was just pure wicked
I didn't win any of the regular games or on the jackpot ticket

Before I got home I spent my last twenty in a lottery vending machine
None of my numbers came out in the draw on the telly at eleven fifteen
I had tea bags and cereal at home because I can't afford a cup of tea
And I'll have to go to the local church at noon where I will get my lunch for free

I closed my savings account last week and the other one is overdrawn
My credit cards are all maxed out I have nothing valuable to pawn
If I had two hundred empty bottles there would be one thing guaranteed
To get rid of this empty feeling I'd be out there somewhere smoking weed

My brothers and sisters live far away and I have no money for transport
Many of my friend's phones are suddenly not working so you're my last resort
You know if you will come through this time I would never shrink my obligation
And when I become a lottery millionaire you'll get your compensationTop of Form

Oh God Tony Fallon 050118

Oh God Tony Fallon 050118

You healed the lame and the infirm you restored the sight to the blind
You can change night into day but you cannot change Mary Anne's mind
I loved her like no other and yet one night like a fool I strayed
I've gone to confession and communion and daily I have prayed
I started novena's and First Fridays my soul is full of grace
But I will not be happy if her I can never more embrace
I was devoted to my girlfriend and of her am very fond
I was drunk the night in The Shamrock when I hooked up with the blonde

When you touched the loaves and fishes they immediately increased
You once changed regular water into wine for a wedding feast
You walked on water and saved Peter on the Sea of Galilee
I am just simply asking you to send my baby home to me
For three long years you baptized and ministered to the common man
No way can I wait three long years for my old girl friend Mary Anne
I'd like for you to come to our town soon and walk across the pond
But I would rather you made Mary Anne forgot about the blonde

I've told my sins to the priest already I've no more to confess
I'm living almost like a monk and we are making no progress
You know I'm a true believer even about your ascension
But I often wonder if I am getting all your attention
I don't want to keep bothering you and I do not want to whine
I don't want you to set a bush on fire but could you send a sign
I've sent her emails and letters and only once did she respond
She claims I do not respect her and I can keep the f####ng blonde
