The world is turning upside down and getting graver fast
Every time you turn on the TV there is worse forecast
What ever you heard last week was just some fabrication
Almost every shop is closed except the petrol station

As they mumble and grumble about this deadly virus

We are told daily that our condition could get drastic
Yet they do not wear any masks or gloves that are plastic
For the intelligent to speak they must praise the leader
And repeat words printed for them on the handy reader
A look at people on TV tells you they are pampered
But to get a chicken cutlet poor people are hampered

The total climbs up daily we don't know when twill taper
Meanwhile in the A and P there is no toilet paper
For hands no plastic gloves or sanitizer to wash them
And of getting paper towels your chances are very slim
We are now isolated which is much like detention
It certainly is the only known kind of prevention

So nobody's recognized as they go about their task
Very few leave their house or car without wearing a mask

Now when people need them most we cannot give them a hug
