Life goes on it doesn't stop for the calendar or clock
The years go by quickly we often look back in shock
Would you stop at twenty-nine or you had not yet peaked?
When you moved past thirty is it true you almost freaked
The decade was not bad but yet panic strikes again
Because after your next birthday you're another ten
The notorious onset of the middle age spread
And when the hair begins to disappear from your head
Over the next ten years your waist started to expand
And the doctor warned you to eat more food that was bland
Your belly was so big you could barely tie your shoes
And often after dinner you lay down for a snooze
quickly grandchildren began to materialize
from a cute sleeping baby to every age and size
You tried to make more time for them than you did your own
They too enjoyed this inclusion even though full grown
You often bragged about your powers with ball and bat
But that was some years ago when you were not so fat
You weren't ready for the rigors you have often claimed
After one Sunday in the park your ankle was maimed
After sixty there were pains in many joints and bones
And a few trips to the hospital for kidney stones
You were using canes and then a pacer for your heart
When you went to shop in Walmart an electric cart
In the seventies the fingers and toes were tingling
And in the bathroom there was often lack of sprinkling
Most of what you chew your daily food with are now false
Even if the wife was naked you wouldn't want to waltz
