……..without sounding egotistical?
You said I had a big ego
I have a right to, I’m from Sligo
I call it a superiority complex
Which I find hard to keep in check
I don’t consider this a defect
All my writing is spell checked
Over and over until it’s correct
That’s as close as I can get to perfect
I check them all for verbs
And my friends praise me in blurbs
All my poems have proper titles
And people want autographs at recitals
I have the right case for nouns
And the correct spelling for towns
I don’t care how often you chide
I have my dignity I have my pride
