The
snow is falling heavily without any noise
We will get a lot tonight and this is no surprise
For a week now our overhead cover has been laden skies
And the locals have lain in many weeks of supplies
All this anxious shopping has been accomplished by the wives
Making sure if there's an emergency everyone survives
All this extra stocking food leaves the family short of cash
And if we lose electricity it winds up in the trash
We have been promised this monster snow storm now for weeks
It's the topic of conversation everybody speaks
The Government has been closed for weeks and no one cares
They buy salt, gloves and shovels as everyone prepares
On TV they enjoy bad predictions and we are trusting
Often they are totally wrong and we just get a dusting
But alas that's not the case an inch will be the hourly rate
A coating of ten to fourteen is the total estimate.
