I woke up one morning and thought I was hearing fiction
About a family being thrown, from a home of their own
A Strokestown, Roscommon new century eviction

This was neither lawful, legal or rational
Irish justice was misapplied, due process being denied
The bosses once again acted unjustly and irrational

The politicians are insulated in their high price suits
Did not raise a hand, to save the family's land
Did not understand how deep grows Irish farming roots

Throw them out, throw them out, let's set an example
The eviction could have waited; now their order is vacated
But vigilantes came at night say we will not let you trample

The men of the west threw out oppression and have awoken
They have shown again they'll fight, for their neighbor's right
And in Roscommon have very loudly and clearly spoken
