The Neighbors©2018TonyFallon1203

The sun did not always shine on our meadow
When I grew up in Ireland a long time ago
We lived in a valley it was misty and foggy
The land was quite soft and wet because it was boggy

How we envied our neighbors they lived much higher
And their weather was much sunnier and drier
They also were member of a different clan
And becase of the weather they all had a tan

Lucky enough we often didn't see them for weeks
They always called my brother and I The two pale cheeks
This of course often led to punches being thrown
Yet they kept up this pestering until they were grown

In their twenties a strange thing happened to this pair
They both began to lose their headfulls of red hair
They both now wear a hat to cover their bare skull
In memory of Mr. Brenner I call them both Yul
