You said I’ll have to change
The ways and things that I do
My thoughts rearrange
Our relationship up for review
My changes must be very soon
There can be no delay
This surely is inopportune
And my thoughts are in disarray.
Maybe it’s you should be having a bloody exam
Maybe you need an overhaul
You’ll have to take me just as I am
Or you can’t have me at all
I cannot be what I aren’t
I can only be what I am
You’ll have to settle for the current
And I don’t give a damn
