I met a cute girl at the Irish Arts
She said she came from distant parts
I thought she meant Atlanta or New Orleans
I found out later that she came from Queens
I asked what Avenue or what street
She said forget my address lets go in the back seat
I told her it might be uncomfortable in a small sedan
That if she had told me I could have brought my minivan
When she told me what she had in mind I was blushing
I’ll never forget the first night with the girl from Flushing.

What happened next in that Honda needs no description
But I didn’t need to get a Viagra prescription
She said later I hope you have no regrets
Let’s go to The Shamrock where they’ll be playing sets
There will be John and Margie and young John Paul
And a woman from New Jersey making the call
Later we can go to McGrath’s or The Blackthorne
There will be sessions at both until early morn
I said there is no need for us to be off rushing
I was enjoying the back seat with the girl from Flushing

She was staying on 145 and she had one of those deals
Where you share a room and get three full meals
Still, I took her out to Angels for the finest pork chops
And bought her wine made from the finest hops
To use her room we definitely couldn’t plan
But there was plenty of action in my minivan
She abandoned me on Friday over on Golden Hill Road
And my car was at McGrath’s in a different zip code
She is gone forever this realization is really crushing
I don’t have the phone or address of the girl from Flushing
