I’ve been waiting a long time for my ship to come in

It must be coming from Poland or maybe Berlin

I don’t know if it will come with a submarine escort

And I don’t know if it will dock in New York or Albany Port

In New York Harbor they say all ships there belong

But in New York they don’t care and they could be wrong

I’ve checked at all the ports up and down the Hudson River

Most have promised if it shows up they will deliver

I’m not sure if all those port people take me serious

Some say ‘Oh it’s you again” and they act delirious

Where I read about my ship coming in I can’t recall

But it was either in the Bile or the Gospel of SaintPaul 

On the Atlantic Ocean there has been no recent sighting

Who should I complain to, to whom should I be writing?

I guess while I’m waiting I should not be complaining

I should be looking for someone who could give me training

I’ve only been on a ship once there must be a lot to learn

I got sea sick for four days so that is a major concern

So maybe I should just sell and instead tour on a train

Or book a trip around the word on an aero plane.
