Broken Hearts, Broken Bones© Tony Fallon.013017

A bone that is broken and torn apart
May mend more quickly than a broken heart
When the bone is knitted pain disappears
To heal a broken heart may take many years.
When the bone is healed you can bend and lift
With a broken heart, your mind is adrift.
So now your body is healthy and energetic
But you are moping around and you feel pathetic
You wonder what you can do to get things patched
And you are very lonely because you are unattached.
Your brain is wondering why it did not detect
That the other person just was not perfect
.You often find yourself alone crying bitter tears
And you haven’t mentioned the breakup to your peers
You know very well there would be a lot of questions
And you can bet they would have loads of suggestions
Some would be glad that your romance is wrecked
From those kinds of friends, you must disconnect
Others would be only too glad this opportunity to seize
And within two weeks they’d be dating your ex-squeeze
Others would hug you and try to console
And you’d like to hide by climbing into a hole.
Stick and stones can break the very best of bones
But you can get unwanted messages on phones
When you call the number all you get is a recording
And talking to an answering machine is not rewarding
You’ve tried the computer often and that also fails
You never get any answers to your many emails
But there’s the ultimate insult you can’t overlook
They have blocked and unfriended you on Facebook
You know the romance is over done and dead
But you can accept it, it won’t sink into your head.
They say time heals all hurts and that it heals all sorrow
You are not thinking of next week but about tomorrow
