The Lottery
Dream © Tony Fallon 81817.
You may
never win the lottery you may never be loaded
The dream
you had of winning has again exploded
You bought
two hundred tickets without any discount
I bought
absolutely none and I won the same amount
Ah long gone
are the sweepstakes days now its lottery
A weekly
legal definition of pure highway robbery
You’ll have
to start saving or you’ll never get to Rome
And you’ll
wind up penniless in the County Home
If you had
won the big prize you had a master plan
You were
going off to China and Russia then to Japan
You were
going to circle the world going to explore
The next leg
would be to Australia’s sunny shore
You had planned to go swimming in the bay at
Adelaide
Where you
were hoping you would meet a lovely Aussie maid
Then you had
plans to visit the Hawaii isles
Which would
greatly multiply your bonus travel miles
Next would
be California with all the movie stars
Then on to
New York to visit many Irish Bars
I’m sure when you’d be there you’d go to see a
trotter
Before coming
back to us in Ireland far across the water
