I asked Mary to sell her lamb boy she was peeved
She said I was gullible and had been deceived
She was so very angry I thought she’d do me harm
She said she grew up in the city and not on a farm
Mary had a cup of tea and a roll, with butter
They charged her extra and I heard her mutter
About the extra charge for the butter spread
Next time she buys tea out she’ll eat dry bread.
Mary has a German car and she’s always braggin'
About the mileage that she gets from her Volkswagen
It has been economical she hasn’t needed any parts
One turn of the key and the engine always starts
Mary is my friends at least that’s what she says
But I don’t often see her for many days and days
Some other people with this might be annoyed
But how can I be upset she is gainfully employed
Mary loves animals especially dogs and cats
But only friendly ones, not the ones that hunt rats
We go out into the cold once more and we both shiver
I bid her goodnight as she heads towards the river
