Sometimes words are as hard as a rock
Other times are as rare as gold
Sometimes we poets experience block
And the mind has suddenly gone cold
The words on the paper do not inspire
They lack energy they lack real fire
The rhyming is pathetic
The words are not athletic
The lines are not magnetic
The endings are not poetic
In this darkness, we cannot lie
We must arise and once more try
In this life, there is no guarantee
In self-pity don’t ask God Why Me?
You know your soul is filled with art.
Tomorrow in the morning hit restart.
