Reading Poems © Tony Fallon121517
Some writers read other authors writing
Do they not find their own exciting?
I just read none but my own
Especially when I’m home alone
People say I am missing out on quotations
But I say I’m also avoiding confrontations
All of my poems are my own expressions
I can’t be accused of stealing others possessions
I often make corrections
And overrule my own objections
I often find my poems are better
When I add another letter
I often look at a whole line
And say Oh my God that can’t be mine
I realize it ruins the whole verse
Any change could not be worse
You could add and subtract forevermore
And it might be no better than it was before
It’s important the theme not be diminished
And when you sign it should be finished
