The Old Years © Tony Fallon.6317

As old age approaches I am full of fears
Will you be here though those old years?
Will you hold my hands when I am old?
Will you hold my hands when they are cold?
In the spring when days are gaining hours
Will you join me as I plant new flowers?
In the summer heat when I’m exhausted
Will you bring me ice cold water from the faucet?
In the Autumn will you help me tie my boots,
And come outside and help me harvest the fruits?.
As old age approaches I am full of fears
Will you be here though those old years?
If I try to sing our favorite song
Will you sit with me and sing along?
When I’m in bed and I cannot sleep
Will you help me count the sheep?
Will you think I’m crazy and going senile
If for no reason at all I suddenly smile?
I’ll probably be thinking of a far off day

When we were young and could run and play.
If you weren’t with me I don’t know what I’d do,
I was so blessed when God sent me you.
As old age approaches I am full of fears
Will you be with me through those years?
